4 Reasons Why Oba Femi Is Ready to Become WWE's Next Top Star

WWE may have found its next monster.

Oba Femi has gone from dominating NXT to beating Brock Lesnar and winning the 2026 King of the Ring. Now, Oba Femi vs. Bron Breakker is set for September 6, with WWE calling the matchup a fight that could shape its future.

So, is Oba Femi ready to become WWE's next top star? Honestly, it is getting harder to argue against it.

1. He Beat Brock Lesnar

Let's start with the obvious one.

Oba Femi defeated Brock Lesnar inside Hell in a Cell at SummerSlam. This was not a quick win either. Femi survived one of the most brutal matches of his WWE career.

Then came the moment that really mattered.

After the match, Brock Lesnar embraced Femi and called him “the future” of WWE.

That is about as strong an endorsement as WWE could give him.

2. Oba Femi Already Has the Résumé

Femi is not some random newcomer WWE suddenly decided to push.

He is a two-time NXT Champion, former NXT North American Champion, 2024 Men's Iron Survivor winner and 2026 King of the Ring winner.

He has already won major matches across WWE.

Now he is doing it on the main roster.

3. He Has the Look of a WWE Main Eventer

Look at Oba Femi.

He is 6'6" and weighs 302 pounds. But size alone is not what makes him interesting. He moves like someone much smaller and hits with frightening power.

That combination gives Oba Femi WWE something it always needs: a believable monster who can dominate established stars.

4. WWE Is Putting Him Against Bron Breakker

This might be the biggest sign yet.

WWE has now booked Oba Femi vs. Bron Breakker, another wrestler widely viewed as a future main-event star. The match is scheduled for Sunday Night's Main Event on September 6.

WWE could have given Femi an easier opponent.

Instead, it put two potential future faces of the company in the same ring.

That tells you plenty.
