Rice on injury fears: I'm all good and I'll be fit for Ghana
England midfielder Declan Rice has played down injury fears, insisting he is "all good" and is fit to face Ghana after being substituted in Wednesday's World Cup win over Croatia.
Rice came off in the 72nd minute, sparking injury concerns around one of England's key players who assisted for Harry Kane's second goal in the 4-2 Group L opening win in San Francisco.
But the 27-year-old has revealed he has been "nursing neural pains" during the second half of the season at Arsenal.
When asked about his early withdrawal, he told ITV Sport: "All good, good as gold.
"Just what I’ve been nursing probably in the second half of the season at Arsenal, little neural pains here and there, but I’m all good.
"All fine, just precaution and I’ll be back out there against Ghana." <> Rice's comments will be a relief to England boss Thomas Tuchel, who had also confirmed afterwards his substitution was a precaution.
He said: “Normally I wouldn’t take Declan out, but I didn’t want to take any risk.”
The German will be confident Rice can start Tuesday's second Group L game in Boston (9pm UK time) against Ghana, who also won their opening game after a 1-0 victory over Panama.
