Current Situation
Pakistan’s FIFA ranking is around 195 out of 211. We haven’t played a proper World Cup qualifier since 2019 due to PFF bans and internal issues.
But in 2023, FIFA lifted the ban. Now PFF is active again. Matches are happening. Young players are coming up.
Football is alive again in Pakistan.

Why Pakistan Struggles

1. No Grassroots: India has 50+ football academies. Pakistan barely has 5. Kids learn on the streets, not on proper grounds.
2. No Money: Cricket gets 90% of the sports budget. Almost nothing is left for football. Even jerseys don’t have sponsors.
3. No League: The Pakistan Premier Football League stopped in 2018, just like PSL. Players don’t have a league to play in.
4. Brain Drain: Our best players like Otis Khan, Easah Suliman, and Yousuf Butt play in the UK and Europe. They want to play for Pakistan, but the system doesn’t support them.

The Hope for 2030
This is why there is hope now. FIFA increased teams from 32 to 48.
Asia will now get 8 direct World Cup spots. Before it was only 4.5.
That means the door is open. If Pakistan works hard for the next 4 years, qualification is not impossible.
